baltimore, maryland {wedding photographer} Christ Luthern Church/Brinlee and Reid

I met Brinlee DuBois & Reid Smetzer through a mutual friend and am so thankful that our paths crossed. Not only are they client’s but they have become wonderful friends and are like family. Being among the lucky guests, and honored to be their Photographer, I got to experience this couple’s lovely Valentine’s Weekend wedding, and I have to say was one of the most incredible and fun weddings I have ever attended.  It was a chilly, sunny weekend, and the five o’clock ceremony was held at Christ Lutheran Church on 701 S. Charles Street in downtown Baltimore City. We were delighted to be able to capture Brin & Reid’s wedding in the traditional downtown church that was adorned with gigantic lanterns that hung high above the dark wooden arched ceilings, huge stained glass windows painted with Biblical Saints that cast a peaceful blue glow, and a beautiful hand crafted organ that gleamed in the balcony above the long narrow aisle that led to the altar of Christ. Pastor Melvina Sticklin officiated the worship service uniting the young couple.

Brinlee was stunning in her Victorian inspired high neck laced gown with a flowing satin train as she was escorted down the aisle of the old church by her father.   Brinlee and the bridesmaids all wore up do’s styled by friends of the Bride, Jessica Levesque & Kelsey Harding of Beleza Salon, and wore long chiffon gowns drenched in deep shades of purple. Reid and Brinlee’s daughter, Chance looked like a little fairy princess as she was carried down the aisle by the ring bearer that was the child’s uncle and bride’s only brother.

The reception was held in the Pieces Room of the Hyatt Regency of Baltimore, MD arranged and coordinated by Erica Schlatter. As you entered the room you couldn’t help but notice how much thought and time went into every single detail. Guests were greeted with the sweet sounds of Shelia Huskey’s, electric violin (a friend of the Bride), as white-gloved hor d’oeuvre being  served. Brinlee being an avid Pinterest lover (as most young Brides are these days) really captured the moment with a little pinch of tradition mixed with an elegant modern flair. The room was beautifully decorated with towering cylinder vases filled with water and scatters of pearls, and illuminated with hints of purple light throughout the room.  In the corner of the dance floor was a simple spray of white roses elegantly formed and adorned into the fondant of a beautiful wedding cake that sat overlooking the night lights of the Inner Harbor. There was a table filled with white bars of chocolate bearing the bride, groom and daughter’s names, a time capsule for guest’s to leave messages of remembrance for the couple to read in the future, and a large printed canvas of their engagement picture for all the guests to sign, just to point out a few of the carefully planned wedding ambiance’s.

The entire evening was rocking. Brinlee and her father danced their “Father-Daughter Dance” to the melody of Ken Smetzer’s (Uncle of the Groom) acoustic guitar, followed up by Lee of Davis DeeJay’s spinning of some serious upbeat music. practically everyone there was on the dance floor, and the groom jumped straight into the crowd as if he was body surfing right into the middle of the ocean. It was an amazing fun event for all.

Congratulations, Brinlee & Reid Smetzer, wishing you everlasting bliss & blessings, it was an absolute pleasure to work with you and your families.
